Titanium Enduro Frame — Long Travel

“Iuhu” means Pure Joy in the Taiwanese indigenous Bunun language, pronounced “YooHoo.” The Iuhu LT Ti brings that joy in titanium — a long-travel enduro frame built to outlast every trail, every season, every rider.

The Iuhu LT Ti is our titanium long-travel enduro frame. 3AL-2.5V aerospace-grade titanium, TIG-welded in Taiwan, with the same G-Volve geometry and K-Volve kinematics as the carbon Iuhu platform. Titanium’s natural vibration damping adds compliance that carbon cannot match — critical on long, rough descents. Lifetime warranty. Factory to rider, no middlemen.

Why Titanium

Titanium is the ideal material for a long-travel enduro frame that gets ridden hard, day after day. Where carbon excels in stiffness-to-weight, titanium excels in durability, vibration damping, and longevity.

Natural Vibration Damping

Titanium’s crystalline structure absorbs high-frequency trail chatter that carbon passes straight through. Less fatigue, more control on long descents.

Fatigue-Proof

Unlike aluminium, titanium has a true fatigue limit. Below its threshold stress, the frame will not develop fatigue cracks — ever. That is why we warranty it for life.

Corrosion Immune

Titanium forms a self-healing oxide layer. No paint needed. Raw brushed finish that resists sweat, mud, salt, and trail debris — and only gets better with age.

Crash Resilient

Titanium dents rather than shattering. A rock strike that would crack a carbon frame leaves a cosmetic dent on Ti — ride on, no structural worry.

Descending: Long Travel Enduro

The Iuhu LT Ti is built for steep, rough, sustained descents. Up to 170 mm of rear travel paired with 160–180 mm forks gives you a proper enduro platform with the compliance advantage of titanium.

63.5° head angle provides stability at speed. Titanium’s natural damping smooths out the chatter that makes long runs fatiguing — your arms and legs stay fresher, deeper into the descent.

Climbing: Titanium Efficiency

Titanium’s stiffness-to-weight ratio keeps power transfer sharp under hard accelerations and sustained climbs. The 77.8° seat tube angle positions you efficiently over the pedals.

  • Tuned anti-squat keeps suspension firm under power without locking out
  • Titanium’s damping reduces fatigue on long climbs over rough terrain
  • Same G-Volve geometry as the carbon Iuhu platform — proven on every terrain
  • No paint to chip, no clearcoat to maintain — ride hard, ride often

Lifetime Warranty

Every DIRTLAB titanium frame comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Titanium does not fatigue like aluminium or degrade like carbon. We build frames that outlive trends — and we stand behind them without an expiry date.

Carbon frames carry a 5-year warranty. Titanium frames carry a lifetime warranty. The material earns it. Read full warranty →

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Iuhu LT Ti?
The titanium trail version of the Iuhu platform. Grade 9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V) titanium frame, long-travel geometry tuned for 140-160mm forks. All-day capable, built to last a lifetime.
Why Grade 9 titanium and not Grade 5?
Grade 9 (3% Al, 2.5% V) is the industry standard for premium Ti bicycle frames. It offers better weldability than Grade 5 (6Al-4V), yields a more compliant ride, and is easier to repair. Grade 5 is heavier and more brittle in tube-form applications.
How much does the frame weigh?
Medium frame, bare: 2,450-2,600g depending on tube profile. Complete builds land 11.5-12.5kg for trail spec, up to 13.5kg for enduro spec with heavier suspension.
Is custom geometry available?
Yes — titanium allows custom tube lengths within our jig envelope. Typical custom orders adjust reach ±15mm, stack ±10mm, seat tube angle ±1°. Contact us via /pages/custom-frame for options.
How are the tubes welded?
TIG welded in argon-purged chamber, full penetration root pass followed by 2-3 finishing passes. All welds inspected via dye-penetrant test. Back-purge on every tube junction.
What is the surface finish?
Raw brushed titanium (standard) or bead-blasted (optional). Anodized color accents available for top tube decals. No paint — the frame's natural oxide layer is the protection.
What is the expected frame life?
Lifetime. Titanium does not fatigue under typical cyclic loads, it is corrosion-immune, and UV-stable. Many 1990s Ti frames are still in original service today.
What is the lead time for a new order?
10-14 weeks from order confirmation to shipment, including tubing preparation, welding, alignment, finishing, and QC. Custom geometry adds 2-3 weeks.
How do I care for a Ti frame?
Minimal care required. Wipe down after rides, check bolts monthly, grease the seatpost and threaded interfaces annually. Bead-blasted finishes can be refreshed at home with a Scotch-Brite pad.
Is the Iuhu LT Ti frame covered by warranty?
Lifetime warranty to first owner for manufacturing and material defects. Standard exclusions apply (crash damage, improper installation).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Iuhu LT Ti?

A titanium long-travel enduro frame using the same G-Volve geometry and K-Volve kinematics as the carbon Iuhu platform. 3AL-2.5V aerospace-grade titanium, TIG-welded in Taiwan, with a lifetime warranty.

Why titanium instead of carbon for enduro?

Titanium provides natural vibration damping that carbon cannot match, is fatigue-proof (infinite fatigue life below threshold stress), corrosion immune, and crash resilient — it dents rather than shattering. For aggressive enduro riding where durability matters, titanium is the superior long-term choice.

What does the lifetime warranty cover?

The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects in the titanium frame for the original owner. Titanium does not fatigue like aluminium or degrade like carbon, so we stand behind it without an expiry date. See our warranty page for full details.

What sizes are available?

XS through XXL in standard sizing. Because titanium frames are built to order, we also offer full custom geometry for riders outside the standard range or with specific fit requirements. Use our S-Volve sizing tool to find your size.

How much travel can I run?

The rear end accepts 150, 160, or 170 mm of travel. Fork compatibility is 160–180 mm. This range covers aggressive trail through full enduro and light freeride.

Can I run it as a mullet (mixed wheel)?

Yes. The Iuhu LT Ti supports 29″/29″ or 29″/27.5″ mullet configurations.

Is a Pinion gearbox option available?

Yes. The Iuhu LT Ti is available with a Pinion gearbox mount as a factory option. Sealed internal gearing pairs perfectly with titanium’s low-maintenance philosophy.

Does the raw titanium finish need maintenance?

No. Titanium forms a self-healing oxide layer that resists corrosion from sweat, mud, salt, and trail debris. No paint, no clearcoat, no touch-ups. Wash it and ride.

What does DDP shipping mean?

Delivered Duty Paid. The price you see is the price you pay — we handle all import duties, taxes, and customs clearance. Free worldwide shipping. No surprise fees at your door.

How long is the lead time?

Titanium frames are built to order. Standard sizes typically ship within 4–6 weeks. Custom geometry frames may take 6–8 weeks. Contact us for current lead times.

How does it compare to the carbon Iuhu models?

Same geometry and kinematics, different material philosophy. Carbon is lighter. Titanium is more durable, naturally damped, corrosion-proof, and carries a lifetime warranty vs 5 years. See the comparison table above for a full breakdown.
