Carbon Enduro Frame Kit — Horst Link

“Iuhu” means Pure Joy in the Taiwanese indigenous Bunun language. The HL brings that joy in the most proven suspension form — the classic Horst Link, refined over years of racing and trail development.

The Iuhu HL is our most accessible full carbon enduro frame kit. Horst Link suspension, G-Volve geometry, K-Volve kinematics, and the same build quality as every DIRTLAB frame — at a price point that makes carbon enduro attainable. Factory to rider, no middlemen.

Descending: Horst Link

HL stands for Horst Link — the suspension design trusted by World Cup enduro teams for decades. The pivot point sits ahead of the rear axle on the chainstay, delivering a progressive leverage curve that resists pedal bob while remaining supple over impacts.

The Iuhu HL uses carefully tuned anti-squat and anti-rise values to deliver consistent behaviour: firm when you pedal, active when you descend. The 63.5° head angle provides confidence in steep terrain without sacrificing agility on tighter trails.

Climbing: Pure Pedal Enduro

Full carbon construction keeps weight low. The Horst Link’s progressive leverage curve means minimal pedal bob without needing to lock out your shock — climb efficiently in the open position.

  • 77.8° seat tube angle for an efficient, upright climbing position
  • Progressive anti-squat tuned for seated and standing efforts
  • Wide travel range (140–170 mm rear) lets you configure from trail to full enduro
  • Same G-Volve geometry as the Paratu HL eMTB and Iuhu CP — proven on every terrain

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Iuhu HL?

A full carbon enduro frame kit using a Horst Link suspension layout with DIRTLAB’s G-Volve geometry and K-Volve kinematics. It is the most affordable frame in the DIRTLAB lineup, starting at $2,529 USD / €2,299 EU.

What is a Horst Link suspension?

The Horst Link places the rear pivot point on the chainstay ahead of the rear axle. This produces a progressive leverage curve that resists pedal bob while remaining supple over impacts. It is the most proven enduro suspension layout, trusted by World Cup teams for decades.

What is the difference between Iuhu HL and Iuhu CP?

The HL uses Horst Link suspension and is more affordable ($2,529 USD / €2,299 EU). The Iuhu CP uses Concentric Pivot suspension with a T47 BB and integrated downtube storage ($3,179 USD / €2,890 EU). Both share the same G-Volve geometry. See the comparison table above for full details.

What is included in the frame kit?

Full carbon HL frame, RA Reach Adjust headset, UDH hanger, and internal cable routing kit. You add suspension, wheels, drivetrain, brakes, and cockpit to complete the build.

How much travel can I run?

The Iuhu HL supports travel configurations from 140 mm (trail) up to 170 mm (full enduro). Pair with a fork of matching travel for balanced geometry.

Can I run it as a mullet (mixed wheel)?

Yes. The Iuhu HL supports 29″/29″ or 29″/27.5″ mullet configurations.

What is the RA Reach Adjust headset?

A proprietary headset system with three positions: 0, −5, or +5 mm of reach adjustment. Fine-tune fit within your frame size or bridge between sizes without changing other geometry parameters.

What colors are available?

Standard finish is Gloss Light Green with HRTF water decals. Full custom Pantone colors are available with a 6–8 week lead time. Contact us for custom color pricing.
