Warranty

What's protected
Every Dirtlab product is backed by a warranty that reflects the quality we build into it.
Eligibility: Original purchaser only. Proof of purchase (official invoice from Bikelab Inc. or authorized dealer) required. Non-transferable. Warranty is void if the frame serial number has been removed, altered, or is unreadable. Second owners can register their frame with us to access goodwill support — service requests, parts orders, and crash-replacement at preferred pricing.

The fine print, made clear
We believe in transparency. Here is exactly what is and is not covered.

What's Covered

  • Manufacturing defects in frame material or construction
  • Cracking, delamination, or structural failure under normal use
  • Paint and finish defects appearing within 12 months of purchase
  • Maxon BIKEDRIVE system failure (engine, battery, HMI, mode shifter, speed sensor) under normal use
  • Battery capacity falling below 80% within the warranty period

What's Not Covered

  • Normal wear and tear — brake pads, tires, chains, bearings, grips
  • Crash damage, impact damage, or abuse
  • Modifications, unauthorized repairs, or aftermarket parts causing failure
  • Cosmetic damage such as scratches and chips from riding
  • Water damage from pressure washing directly at bearings or motor
  • Damage from improper storage (extreme heat/cold affecting battery)
  • Racing, competition use, or commercial rental fleet use
  • Frames with removed, altered, or unreadable serial numbers
  • Claims without valid proof of purchase (original invoice)
  • Frames purchased from unauthorized resellers
  • Second-hand frames are not under contractual warranty, but the second owner can register the frame for goodwill support

Register your bike

Activate your warranty

Register your Dirtlab frame within 30 days of purchase to activate warranty coverage and receive important updates about your model.

Where to find your serial number: The serial number is stamped or engraved on the bottom bracket shell of your frame. Flip your bike upside down and look at the underside where the cranks attach.
Common questions
Does the warranty transfer to a second owner?

The contractual warranty is non-transferable — it applies to the original purchaser only and requires proof of purchase from Bikelab Inc. or an authorized dealer. However, second owners can register their frame with us — send your frame number and proof of resale, and we will assist with service requests, parts orders, and crash-replacement at preferred pricing. It is goodwill support, not a contract — but it runs for the useful life of the bike.

What if I crash and damage the frame?

Crash damage is not covered under contractual warranty, but our Crash Replacement Program runs for the life of the bike — 40% off a replacement frame of the same model and size, available to any registered owner (original or second). See details below.

What happens after the warranty expires?

We still service your bike — it just will not be a free replacement. Our service team is available for inspections, repairs, and parts at standard service rates.

Can I upgrade my motor or battery under warranty?

Yes. Upgrades performed by Dirtlab or an authorized service partner do not void your warranty. Third-party modifications may affect coverage if they cause the failure.

Do I need to service my bike regularly to keep the warranty?

There is no mandatory service schedule required to maintain warranty coverage. That said, we recommend an annual check-up to keep your bike performing at its best.
